Abstract photography, like all abstract art, focuses on the simplest elements of artistic expression. The viewer is drawn into the image by the beauty, interest or uniqueness of the visual experience.
Minimalism or minimalist art can be seen as extending the abstract idea that art should have its own reality. Aesthetically, minimalist art offers a highly purified form of beauty.
My photographs evoking impressionistic or abstract paintings are achieved by the technical means of my camera and/or a painterly post processing. Therefore they are unlike other photographs aesthetically different.
